VOLUNTEER
Wigmore village shop has two paid members of staff; Alison - our super shop manager who works part time and Clare - our wonderful cleaner.
The rest of our shop team is made up entirely by an extraordinary team of volunteers who together, bring a wealth of skills and perspectives that contribute to our shop’s success.
Their presence not only ensures the smooth day-to-day functioning of the store but also promotes a culture of collaboration and shared responsibility. Our volunteers are our heartbeat!

How often would I need to volunteer?
As often or as little as you like - we welcome all support. Most of our volunteers have regular shifts of 2-4 hours each week.
I've never used a till before
No problem - many of our volunteers hadn't either! Full training is given by Alison to all and there is also a very handy reference book beside the till to double check on procedures!
What experience do I need?
A smile, a cheery personality and a willingness to have ago. That's all that's required. Training is given to everyone and you can let us know what you feel comfortable with.
I can't do regular shifts but I would like to help
Thats ok too. We have a pool of volunteers we rely on when our regulars are away or unable to make their shifts.
How do I get involved?
Do I have to live in Wigmore to volunteer at the shop?
Not necessarily. It certainly helps to be local and we have volunteers from many of the smaller, surrounding villages, as well as those living here in Wigmore.
