MEMBERSHIP
'Community shops are owned by their members (also known as shareholders) and are run democratically on the basis of one-member one-vote. Membership is voluntary, affordable and open to all, and is the way to ensure the community has a genuine say in how the business is run.'

Wigmore Village Shop is owned by its members.
Membership is open to ANYONE willing to buy a share in the Company (Wigmore Village shop Association Ltd).
Each membership gives the owner one vote and an equal say in the running of the Shop through the Annual Members' Meeting (AMM).
It does not carry any rights to dividends or discounts. A copy of the Rules of the Association can be found here.
How do I apply for
membership?
To apply for membership, please download and complete the Membership Application form and return to the shop, together with the appropriate fee.
Members are accepted at the discretion of the Management Committee and acceptance will be confirmed in writing.
AMM
At the Annual Members' Meetings which are held in the spring, members elect a Management Committee to oversee Shop management for the year ahead.
THE Management Committee

'The Management Commitee shall comprise not less than three and not more than 8 members, who shall mainly be elected by and from the Members. Not more than one quarter of the Management Committee may comprise persons co-opted by the Management Committee.'

The Management Committee meets once every month and is accountable to the members at all times.

An Annual Members' Meeting is held in the spring. The business of which includes the receipt of the accounts and balance sheet, and the election of committee members.
How do I get on the Management Committee?
New committee members are always welcome!
